Yesterday, Will Smith gave fans their first look at the teaser poster for the upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin and now Disney has officially unveiled the first teaser for the film.

Wednesday's poster was initially revealed by Will Smith, who plays Genie in the movie, when he shared it across multiple social media accounts. Smith followed it up by saying, "Can't wait for y'all to see me BLUE!", alluding to his role as Genie.

In the original film, "street rat" Aladdin frees the Genie from a magic lamp, earning three wishes in the process. It features the film's iconic lamp and a secret about what awaits inside it, as well as the warning "Choose wisely". In the 1992 film, animation was an essential part in bringing Robin Williams' wild, manic voice work to life. Aladdin plans to uses these wishes to win over the lovely Princess Jasmine, but the evil Jafar has other plans.

The first teaser trailer for Disney's next big live-action reboot, Aladdin, has arrived. As well as Tim Burton's Dumbo and Jon Favreau's The Lion King, we're getting Guy Ritchie's take on Aladdin in May.

The film is a remake of 1992 animated film that ended up bagging two Oscars. The filmmaker later hired Numan Acar as Hakim, Navid Negahban as The Sultan, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine.
