Louis Saha rips Paul Pogba for putting pressure on Jose Mourinho

The Portuguese tactician removed Pogba as vice-captain following the midfielder's public criticism of his tactics two weeks ago, and many believe the Frenchman's latest comments could be seen as yet another jab at his manager. You should be like "I should score, score, score".

Mourinho made a series of comments to camera as he headed towards the tunnel after Manchester United's 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Pogba insists that he does not need the captain's armband to be heard, however, and he believes that he is at a ideal age to act as a dressing-room leader.

In fact, the manager had a talk with the French midfielder during half-time about what he should do and it was Paul Pogba who suggested that he goes in defence so that the manager can bring in Marouane Fellaini.

"I think the World Cup is the ideal habitat for a player like him to give the best".

Having left Manchester to join the France squad for Les Bleus' forthcoming friendly against Iceland and Nations League encounter with Germany, the 25-year-old refuted an interest in being the national team's skipper.

"There are a lot who deserve [the award], I don't put myself among them", he said.

"I've never played in the France team to be captain, being here is already a big thing for me". As a leader you can talk on the pitch, but I have seen leaders who do not necessarily speak.

"I think he (Pogba) has done it on objective, and I don't think that is right", Saha, 40, said."It's the wrong communication, it puts pressure on the manager. with those talks you should do it in the dressing room with your manager".

He cited former Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo, a teammate of Pogba's at Juventus, as someone who could be relied upon to "show you the way on the pitch".

"I don't think it's about us getting the best out of him".

"I can't pick one of them, but I sincerely hope it'll be one of those three, or even four because there's also NG (N'Golo Kante)".
