Apple seeds iOS 12.1 beta 3 to developers

If you've been online at all in the past few weeks, you've probably read about a charging issue affecting some iOS 12 devices.

Apple first addressed the new iPhone's charging issues (Chargegate) in a beta release of iOS 12.1.

Apple has rolled out iOS 12.0.1 update which is around 157.5 MB in size to fix the iPhone XS charging issue.

The bug seemed to impact iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models, though not all 2018 handsets were affected.

iOS 12.0.1 includes bug fixes and improvements for your iPhone and iPad. Their iPhone XS would attempt to rejoin a previously-connected WiFi network at 2.4 GHz, even if it had been using 5 GHz beforehand. Users who were experiencing shoddy Wi-Fi speeds should see that issue addressed as their devices will now opt for the faster 5GHz network. "It also restores the original position of the ".?123" key on iPad keyboards - which was moved in iOS 12.

The early unofficial statistics show that Apple has managed to capture the attention of device owners as far as iOS 12 is concerned.

Instead, they'd only do so if the screen was active when the charging was initiated.

Apart from that, there are also fixes to subtitles not appearing in some video apps and Bluetooth unavailability issue.

Your iPhone or iPad should automatically offer the new update, but you can also trigger it manually by heading into Settings, choosing General, and then Software Update.
