Khabib Nurmagomedov posts 'apology' for Conor McGregor UFC brawl

Dana White was asked whether he would be interested in promoting a rematch between Nurmagomedov and McGregor, considering the risks that can not be ignored, but he remained non-committal on running it back. Shortly after the contest had drawn to a close, Khabib Nurmagomedov leapt out of the Octagon and attacked McGregor's teammate Dillon Danis.

"We lost the match but won the battle". "The war goes on".

Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor via submission in the fourth round of UFC 229 before the Russian fighter climbed out of the ring and attacked a member of McGregor's team on live television. Post-fight, he assured that he'll be back, and that he looks forward to a rematch with Nurmagomedov.

There would be no shortage of storylines going into a potential rematch and while the post-fight melee was condemned by UFC President Dana White, you shouldn't be one bit surprised if footage of the brawl is used in the promotion of a second fight between Nurmagomedov and McGregor.

White said Nurmagomedov should've "pulled [McGregor] up from the ground and said, 'Hey, good fight, ' and got his belt".

In an apology that seemed to be tongue in cheek, Khabib wrote on Instagram: 'My face when someone says that they didn't like my jump, but I tried so hard.

The most pressing issue for "The Eagle" is how heavily he is sanctioned for the carnage that unfolded at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. "I want to change the game, you can not talk about religion, about nationality".

White told reporters for ESPN that the Nevada State Atheltic Commission is now holding both McGregor's and Nurmagomedov's fight checks until further notice.

"I don't know when things started turning into some kind of s- show?" But I don't understand how people can talk about how I jump on the cage. Regardless, it is going to take time to figure it all out. McGregor's signature pre-fight trash-talk gab took on a more insidious nature, which clearly got to Nurmagomedov and exploded into violent chaos after the fight was supposed to be over.
