Drew Brees Isn't Focused On Passing Yardage Record

Brees, 39, now sits on 71,740 passing yards, He only needs 201 yards to take over the top spot in National Football League history. The Redskins dropped to 2-2. Washington's defense is off to a great start but Brees will be ready to bounce back after failing to throw a touchdown pass in Week 4. Instead, they helped Brees pile up first-half yards with third-down penalties that extended two touchdown drives.

Brees, who finished 26 of 29 for 363 yards with three touchdowns (he's now just one shy of 500 for his 18-year career), showed how potent the Saints can be when they have their full complement of weapons. A few minutes later he connected with Smith on a 35-yard touchdown and when all-everything Taysom Hill scored on a 1-yard run to the right side the rout was on. And barring the impossible, they'll be in for a special moment when he breaks the record on Monday. On the first play of the drive, Brees launched a pass toward the right sideline to the speedy Smith, who was wide open and easily sprinted away from Nicholson's tackle attempt en route to the end zone. And it says a lot about the teams I've been on, the coaches, the teammates, the players. With that said, let's take a look at some bold predictions for what could happen in the contest and some of the insane stat lines that might occur.

Saints: In addition to Lattimore, reserve defensive lineman Taylor Stallworth limped off the field, favouring his right leg.
