How to watch Packers vs. Lions

"We've been kind of a one-half team: one good half and one not-so-good half". The Packers scored a touchdown on their first drive of the second half, but successfully went for 2 to make it 24-8. The second came when rookie Da'Shawn Hand powered through an attempted double-team block, bouncing off center Corey Linsley and then powering through guard Lane Taylor before engulfing Rodgers.

Rodgers again talked about his frustration with the state of the offense, though there was no criticism directed at McCarthy. "You have to have the ability to get in and out of personnel groups". The execution wasn't where it needs to be.

"I always prepare like I'm going to be the No. 1 receiver", Valdes-Scantling said. "That's big. the end had a big play to get us three more (points)".

McCarthy, who spoke at length about Rodgers' comments on Monday, was eager to move on, as well. "I don't even know what Aaron threw for today but it's about scoring and touchdowns". "It's not good that I was inside and felt great, and then this happened".

Detroit also has one of the NFL's best cornerbacks in Darius Slay and the pass rush has 13 sacks.

Mason Crosby became the first kicker since Dan Carpenter with the Miami Dolphins in 2010 to miss at least four field goals in a game, as the Green Bay Packers fell on the road to the Detroit Lions, 31-23.

They were without two of their three starting receivers - Randall Cobb (hamstring) and Geronimo Allison (concussion/hamstring) - and the other, Adams, played despite a calf injury.

Valdes-Scantling played 20 snaps in the first three games and 54 on Sunday against Buffalo, when Cobb was inactive.

Adams, Cobb and Allison have combined for 64 catches for 768 yards and six scores this season.

Okwara leaped, his right arm extended, and swatted the ball from Rodgers' grasp.

"The referee told us the ball hit Detroit first, but they still gave it to Detroit", Williams said. "You guys don't see the practices, but J'Mon's been making a lot plays in practice and improving and same with Eq".

It's the second week in a row that Rodgers has practiced on Thursday following a missed Wednesday session. Crosby jogged onto the field, but the Packers made a decision to go for it. Rodgers scrambled for the first down, setting up Green Bay's second touchdown. Accomplishing those things should improve an offense that has been so-so on third down and bad in the red zone. Now the three rookies may go from being criticized in practice to playing very significant roles in an important game against a division rival.
