Actress Ruby Rose named 'most dangerous' celebrity to search online

Kim wasn't the only Kardashian to make the list as her sister, Kourtney, was third, alongside Adele and Caroline Flack.

The actress was just named the most risky celebrity on the internet by cybersecurity firm McAfee.

According to a report, a cybersecurity firm has honoured the ' John Wick' actor with the tag, stating that no other celebrity was more likely to land users on websites that carry viruses or malware.

Ruby Rose - model and actor - is well known for her role in Netflix's Orange Is The New Black.

The Independent explains that cybercriminals often prey on internet users by using popular search terms - such as stars' names - in links that lead to malicious sites, which then either install malware or steal personal information including passwords.

Meanwhile, another Australian actress made the list- Rose Byrne at No. 5. She grabbed the notorious top spot from Avril Lavigne, who went from the "most dangerous" celeb of 2017 to not even in the top 10.

Love Island's Kem Cetinay, TOWIE's Ferne McCann and Britney Spears also made the United Kingdom list.

Apart from the two, actresses Marion Cotillard, Lynda Carter and Rose Byrne were also among the top five celebrities whose name searches can result into fans clicking sketchy links.

On Tuesday, McAfee also released a list of the most unsafe celebrities to search in the United Kingdom, with Kim Kardashian taking out the top spot.

"In our hyper-connected world, it's important for consumers to think before they click to be sure that they are landing on safe digital content and protecting themselves from cybersecurity threats that may be used to infect their devices or steal their identity", Gary Davis, Chief Consumer Security Evangelist at McAfee, said on Tuesday.

While Kourtney Kardashian may have been trying to put some distance between herself and her family in real life, she accomplished that on this year's list of most unsafe celebrities. Well, McAfee warned that people should only stream stuff from reputable and reliable, paid-for sources, and that they should only click on news stories from sources that they trust.
