PSG coach Tuchel: Liverpool geniune Champions League contenders

Ahead of Liverpool's clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, the former Borussia Dortmund manager spoke at his pre-match press conference about Neymar's actions at the World Cup. Adrien Rabiot plays a pivotal role for PSG in keeping play ticking over.

"He has to protect himself. I really thought it was a smart decision of PSG to sign Tuchel", said Klopp.

"We don't go for him against us", he explained. The players we spoke to in the summer or a little earlier, they were different talks to those I had the previous year or before.

"We still have to cope with that and that is what we will try".

Saturday's was the first big test, Spurs was our biggest and toughest game and we came through with flying colours.

"He got rested at the weekend so he will be 100 percent fresh, he's not injured any more". I am pretty sure it is not. He tried to play for his country without being fit. That's how it is. In which role though, same as Neymar - I can not tell you.

"I don't think about these kind of things".

"For us, we've got to concentrate on the qualities. We will see the full package Neymar".

"We try to avoid passes to him".

Jordan Henderson, meanwhile, stressed that Neymar's perceived diving has not been part of Liverpool's preparation for the Group C opener.

That hangover has been felt on the field with Salah scoring just twice in Liverpool's opening five games of the campaign and missing chances he ruthlessly put away last season.

"On the other side, a good thing for us is that we've got a lot of players that can cause them problems". It won't just have to be him, we've got to stop the whole team, which will be hard. We have to respect them'. He then went on to say that it is "good news" the game is tomorrow and "we will see" how it develops. If we have the ball and we don't play football then the pressure of them is too high.

"It is good news it will be close".

"If I would not be the manager I would 100% watch this game so now I have the most average place in the stadium to watch it".

"It's a big relief for us". It is painful and no-one needs that but he will be fine but we don't know exactly when.

That trident made Anfield the most thrilling destination in the Champions League last season and the memory of the first 30 minutes in the quarter-final against Manchester City, not to mention the hour against Roma in the last four, shows what can happen when the team and fans are in sync.
