Best Upgrades From Apple's IPhone IOS Update

Ahead of the upcoming public releases of iOS 12 and watchOS 5 on September 17th and macOS Mojave on September 24th, Apple has told developers via its developer website that App Store submissions are open.

Apple's new Screen Time feature will log how many minutes or hours you spend on your phone - whether it's using apps or sending messages - on a daily and weekly basis.

Later this year, Apple plans to add FaceTime calling with up to 32 participants - but it won't be in the original iOS 12 release, as originally planned. Meanwhile, those waiting for macOS Mojave to hit their Macs will need to wait until September 24th.

However, if you're more on the cautious side, or if you truly depend on your devices to work properly, here's our advice on when you should think about installing these new versions.

At the same time, Computerworld tapped September 18 for iOS 12's debut.

Rick Broida detailed which devices support iOS 12, but the cheat sheet for compatibility is if your device runs iOS 11, it will run iOS 12.

Once you've signed up and agreed to the terms and conditions, you can select the "iOS" tab where you'll be able to download the beta profile on to your device.

To install watchOS 5, you must be running iOS 12 on your Apple Watch's associated iPhone. With the iOS 12, Apple is changing that. But Apple will also roll out a bunch of new tools with the update that will streamline your experience and in the end, make it a lot more enjoyable. Even if you were testing the betas of Mojave, you probably weren't doing so on your main Mac. After downloading the IPSW file, you can use iTunes to install it on your iPhone by updating your iPhone's firmware to iOS 12 GM.

Apple will release macOS 10.14, aka Mojave, on Monday, Sept. 24, the company announced earlier this week. Some of my Keyboard Maestro macros have stopped working, and I haven't yet been able to figure out why.

There's also the IKEA placement app, which allows you to virtually place IKEA furniture in your home. The staggered release helps alleviate pressure on Apple servers.
