Apple expected to unveil bigger, pricier iPhone on Wednesday

The US phone giant will allow people to watch the event live on the social media site, widening its potential viewership by breaking with a long-standing tradition of only allowing viewers to tune in via the company's website.

Renowned Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed nearly everything his information indicates Apple is about to announce at its new iPhone September 12 event.

Apple also has in the works a new iPad Pro model that will include the company's Face ID facial recognition feature, Kuo said. Apple is expected to announce refreshed iPhones in the USA on september 12, 2018.

Google is also expected to announce a new version of its Pixel smartphone when it holds its own event in October. Apparently, the large, iPhone Xs Max model will also be the heaviest yet at 7.34 ounce (208 grams). With every new launch Apple seems to be able to sell more of the older models, thanks to the so-called "hero effect" where buyers are aspiring for the latest models, but settling for something more within their grasp. Many might have thought that this year's iPhones would ship with a higher watt charger, being that all competing devices with fast charging actually come with a fast charger. Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will stand out with an OLED display and a new gold colour. This model is now seen as the replacement to the iPhone 8, which also started at the same price in India. The rumors indicate there will be at least two versions: the iPhone XS, which will be 6.1 inches and will be the more affordable model, and the iPhone XS Max, which will be a whopping 6.5 inches (the biggest iPhone yet).

Historically, Apple is not known for parity between pricing of its device in the USA and other markets.

Apple will unveil its 2018 iPhones at 10 a.m. Wednesday US time (1 a.m. Thursday in Manila), hoping to reassert its dominance in the premium segment of an increasingly saturated market.

It is clearly the Apple season, as the USA technology giant will announce its new products on Wednesday.

But, of course, Apple's strength is in ignoring such emerging technologies until they feel the time is right to build it into their products. In the meantime, prolific concept maker ConceptsiPhone has shared a fanmade trailer for iPhone Xr, complete with the familiar design of the iPhone X, a varied selection of colors, and an LCD display. In fact, if you didn't know, one of the main reasons for the push towards screen sizes larger than 5 inches was the requirement to improve the effectiveness of mobile advertisements and not really convenience of the user.
