New COD: Black Ops 4 trailer finally shows off Blackout battle royale

Activision and Treyarch have released a brand new gameplay trailer for Blackout, Call of Duty: Black Op 4's all-new Battle Royale mode that delivers signature Call of Duty gameplay immersed in classic environments and characters from the Black Ops universe.

But now Activision has gone the extra mile, introducing an official trailer for the mode right before the beta goes live. Developer Treyarch revealed Blackout (its take on battle royale) back in May, but we're getting our first look at it today.

The beta will be available for anyone who's previously purchased a copy of the game, with an open version for all interested players with a account later this month. Therefore, after testing and deliberation, things are subject to change.

As we previously reported, Blackout mode will support 80 players, launch with four vehicles which let you take to the land, air, and sea, and include unsafe hotspots where you can gun down zombies. Starting September 10, PlayStation 4 players can tryout Blackout in the Blackout Private Beta. Ahead of that, Treyarch will talk more about the Blackout beta during a livestream set for September 7.

Fight through classic Black Ops locales while playing as some of your favorite characters from across the series.

As part of a huge Game Informer Q&A, Black Ops 4 design director, David Vonderhaar, explained that while the studio's target remains at 60 frames per second with Blackout, it will be harder to hit that number compared to other game modes.
