Serena, Venus set up Williams vs. Williams match at U.S. Open

The U.S. Open is the final grand slam event of the year, and it always seems to produce some phenomenal matches for fans to watch. Ranked 48th in the world, Bouchard has one title under her belt and is looking good this year cruising to easy victories in the qualifying rounds and then defeating H. Tan in the first match in the round of 128 as posted on U.S. Open scores and schedules.

Friday's match will be the earliest Serena and Venus Willimas have met at a Slam since the 1998 Australian Open in what was also their first ever clash.

Ex-pro tennis player Anne White says she knows howSerena Williams feels about the ban on her catsuit at the French Open. because she went through the exact same thing back in the '80s. I mean, everybody was pretty scared that I could get a fine for it. We would have liked to have played later but it is what it is.

Caroline Wozniacki entered the open as the second seed and will play her next match against L. Tsurenko in the round of 64 at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

"As always we will come out and try our best. Obviously there's been other siblings that have had fantastic careers in tennis, but none anywhere close to what they've managed to achieve", said three-time major champion Andy Murray, whose first major since hip surgery ended with a four-set loss to No. 31 Fernando Verdasco.

"What Bernard Giudicelli said about Serena's cat suit was 10,000 times worse than what happened to me on the court yesterday, because he's the president of the French federation and because he doesn't have to do that".

Defending champion and third seed Sloane Stephens also made the third round with a marathon 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 win over Ukraine qualifier Anhelina Kalinina.

Seeded women who advanced earlier on another day with the temperature topping 95 degrees (33 Celsius) included No. 7 Elina Svitolina, No. 8 Karolina Pliskova, No. 15 Elise Mertens, No. 19 Anastasija Sevastova and No. 23 Barbora Strycova, all in straight sets.

"I felt the energy, definitely", Venus said. We're both going to come out per usual and play our best in front of you guys. "So I think that's the toughest part for me".

Earlier Wednesday, the WTA said Cornet's code violation "was unfair and not based on a WTA rule, as the WTA has no rule against a change of attire on court". So I need to tell her, 'You can't eat the soap, honey'.

Serena looked much more impressive Wednesday than her sister did, but the levels of competition were also different.
