Bills' McDermott: Coleman to debut vs. Browns, still 'digesting' new offense

Bills quarterback A.J. McCarron exited Friday's preseason contest with the Browns in the first quarter, suffering a hairline fracture of the collarbone per Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News.

Corey Coleman was sent from the Browns to the Bills earlier this month. Buffalo acquired Coleman on August 5 for a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. "Right now we're still digesting".

When AJ McCarron signed with the Buffalo Bills in free agency after spending four seasons as Andy Dalton's backup, he thought he was going to get an opportunity to be a starting quarterback.

Coleman asked to be traded during an episode of "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cleveland Browns" after being relegated to the second team in favor of rookie Antonio Callaway. Coleman didn't like that deflective answer and quipped, "If you don't want me to play, why won't y'all just trade me?"

Coleman, confidence clearly rattled, approached head coach Hue Jackson and demanded to know why.

Coleman had 56 catches for 718 yards and five touchdowns in 19 games across two seasons with the Browns.
