Husband Admitted To Killing Wife, Daughters: Sources, Family

She said Watts' purse, keys and phone were found inside, but there was no sign of Shanann.

Christopher Watts and Shanann Cathryn Rzucek were married in Mecklenburg County on November 3, 2012, public records show.

Authorities say bodies believed to be a pregnant woman and her two young children were found on the property of one of Colorado's largest oil and gas drillers where her husband used to work.

By Tuesday afternoon, the CBI issued an endangered missing alert for all three. I could see her on the doorbell camera.

She says the company is heartbroken and is supporting investigators.

"I'm just hoping right now that she's somewhere safe", he said. Shortly after that, he said he headed home, and found Shannan's vehicle in the driveway but no trace of his wife and daughters.

The day before his arrest Chris Watts told 9NEWS that the disappearance of his wife and daughters was traumatic.

The mother was 15 weeks pregnant. "I don't know where to go from here", he added. Shannan [sic] Watts 34 years old, and her two daughters that are 3 and 4 years old.

Watts was arrested late Wednesday and taken to Weld County Jail.

"Last night I had every light in the house on".

During a press conference on Thursday morning, Colorado Bureau of Investigation Director John Camper told media it's believed the body of Shanann Watts has been recovered.

Christopher Watts was held under investigation of three counts of first degree murder and three counts of tampering with evidence, according to Denver7.

"Chris Watts, the husband of Shannan, has been placed into custody and is awaiting charges".

An unidentified friend told CNN affiliate KDVR that she dropped off Shanann Watts at home about 2 a.m. Monday after they returned from a work trip, and watched her go into the house. "She didn't show up for it ... and I was even more concerned".

Shanann Watts was reported missing at 1:40 p.m. Monday after she didn't answer texts and phone calls from friends and family, according to investigators.

Chris told ABC News affiliate Denver 7 on August 14, "I$3 hope that she's somewhere safe right now and with the kids, but I mean could she have [the] van... It was very vague". Police have not said if they suspect foul play and didn't specify where Watts and her daughters were last seen. His confession came a day after authorities launched an investigation into their mysterious disappearance, reports said.
