Kante comfortable with surprise new Chelsea role

N'Golo Kante is excited rather than daunted at the prospect of playing under new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri this season.

Conte left the west London outfit this summer after months of speculation and was replaced with ex-Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

A Chelsea star, who was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United recently, has admitted he would not still be at Stamford Bridge were it not for a significant change at the club.

Speaking to reporters (via ESPN) Willian said: "I'm here".

The new Chelsea manager has abandoned the practice of the squad staying together at the Chelsea Harbour hotel on nights before they have an evening game at Stamford Bridge the following day, a measure that was introduced by Conte and was unpopular with numerous players.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Sarri has now loosened Conte's restriction on the players' nutrition and has given his squad more options to eat at the club's training ground.

After taking charge just weeks before the Premier League season began, the Italian head coach faced a hard task implementing his fast-paced, possession-based style of attacking football known as "Sarri-ball".

"So, yeah, hopefully, I am able to do that again".

He added: "To play for your nation on the world stage is worth more than money can ever buy, and I get to do that, so I am very fortunate".

"We have a lot of players with quality up front, players like Eden Hazard and Pedro".

That approach was rarely successful against Arsenal, who Chelsea host at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. I think we played very well.
