Resident Evil Remake 2's Japanese Special Edition Is Awesome

Resident Evil Remake 2's Japanese Special Edition Is Awesome

Setting aside the fact that Qwerkywriter's keyboard doesn't resemble the in-game typewriter, this isn't a bad collector's edition when combined with everything from the previous set. It's no surprise to see versions of games costing a couple hundred dollars or more and including anything from mini statues to movie DVDs to a bunch of useless crap.

Interestingly enough, there are several different options available when it comes to Resident Evil 2 collector's editions. The keyboard is also available without the game for 81,000 yen taxes included.

We can probably all agree that collector's edition are, by and large, crap - but this Resident Evil 2 package exclusive to Japan is an exception.

Should've been a real typewriters but maybe that's just me. The $900 Premium Edition has much more than just a keyboard, however.

A European collector's edition hasn't been announced yet but the America one come with a Leon S. Kennedy statute, art book, and item box - which is also listed on Capcom's Japanese website as the "Z Version". While it's a safe bet this package won't be coming stateside, the more reasonable collector's edition and its contents will be available in the USA for $200. Unless you're buying Resident Evil 2 from the Capcom online store, it could be a moot point. That said, though, it's worth noting that the Collector's Edition won't have the Lexington vintage typewriter keyboard.

As reported by Polygon, the Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition adds a Qwerkywriter Bluetooth mechanical keyboard to the set.

Capcom's Bluetooth keyboard is scheduled to launch on January 25, 2019.
