Chelsea Beat Huddersfield As New Signing Jorginho Shines

Three thoughts on Chelsea's 2-0 win vs. Huddersfield in the Premier League.

It came in the 34th minute when N'Golo Kante's mis-hit strike from Willian's cross bounced past Huddersfield goalkeeper Ben Hamer.

Eden Hazard also produced a lively cameo after coming on as a 76th-minute substitute, creating Chelsea's third goal, rounding off a near flawless start to life in English football for Sarri, who had predicted that his team would encounter problems with results and performances in the first half of the season.

The 26-year-old was one of the best players at the World Cup in Russian Federation but he did not return for training at Chelsea according to the Metro.

The FA Cup winners and last season's defending champions headed into their first game of the season with some uncertainty given the changes which took place in the summer.

"If you want to get something out of these games, you have to be at your very best", said Wagner. But I think we did have a lot of unlucky situations.

"We are not a physical team so for 20 minutes we were in trouble but we did very well". I think the best of the game was the capacity was to suffer for 15 minutes.

"Then I think in the second half the opponents were a bit exhausted and it was easier". "We really wanted to get something out of this game". That is not a surprise, perhaps, but it doesn't bode well for his chances of much playing time with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cesc Fabregas and Mateo Kovacic to come in.

"It is not a problem, I have spoken with his three or four times".

"We are lucky now because we can work with one match a week".

When a team plays well but loses, it is sometimes hard to figure out if they have been wasteful or unlucky.

Kongolo initially joined the Terriers on loan for the second half of last season and performed well enough at the back for Huddersfield to make him their record signing this summer.

"I don't know. I think there were some personal reasons, so I can not go on personal reasons. He has to improve and have training", Sarri said. "The best thing for him was to play 15-20 minutes when the opposition was exhausted".

Huddersfield showed their spirit by continuing to attack and striker Steve Mounie headed against the post after Mathias Jorgensen had flicked on a corner.
