Last Solar Eclipse of 2018 to Occur today

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon gets between Earth and the sun, and the moon casts a shadow over Earth.

When the moon completely covers the sun, it creates a total solar eclipse, casting a shadow of the moon across the Earth's surface. The world, today, will witness one of the breathtaking visuals of a partial solar eclipse. It is also suggested that solar eclipse should be witnessed through binoculars, telescope or optical camera viewfinder. Even though it will be visible to a wider swath of the world, the August 11 eclipse still won't be visible in the U.S. So that's two eclipses, one solar and one lunar, linked by the moon's orbit. Placing your bets on the path traced by Nasa's Goddard Space Flight Centre, Surya Grahan or solar eclipse will be witnessed over northern Canada, north-eastern US, Greenland, Scandinavia, most of Siberia, and some parts of central Asia.

There are various interesting facts about the solar eclipse which you should know.

During a partial solar eclipse, there is no totality because the moon will only cover a portion of the sun, according to NASA. Over 100 minutes long, it was the longest eclipse of the century. Having arrived at the ascending node nearly too late for the partial solar eclipse on July 13, the moon now passes the same node nearly too early.

Solar eclipse will start at 01:02 pm PST (Pakistan Standard Time) while, it will end at 04:21 pm PST. Mostly it will be visible in the Northern Hemisphere, as India is not close to the same, the solar eclipse will not be visible in the country.

A partial solar eclipse is visible over a statue. This is because the earth is not always at the same distance from the sun, and the moon is not always at the same distance from the earth. The visual of Solar Eclipse will not be visible to many and only a small part of Antartica would be able to watch the eclipse.

Just like during the August 2017 total solar eclipse, you will need special eclipse glasses to get the best viewing experience of the partial eclipse to protect your eyes.

According to many experts, one should not watch the solar eclipse with naked eyes and there are specific glasses to watch it with which are available in the market.
