Doom Eternal's impressive gameplay reveal rips and tears through everything

Once again, DOOM Eternal puts players in control of the DOOM Slayer, a gun-toting, demon-murdering antihero hellbent on revenge (no pun intended). The DOOM Eternal gameplay will be live-streamed for every one of you who can not make it to the main event.

There will be twice as many enemies in DOOM Eternal, compared to the last DOOM. You can either become a demon and battle enemy slayers solo, or join up with friends to form a "hunting party" and really ruin a few days. Id Software will share more details about that mode at a later date.

There are a ton of new changes being introduced to Doom Eternal. The gameplay demonstration was constantly queueing up and chewing through new demon types that required their own combat approaches - some returning from the original Doom 2, like the Pain Elemental, others unseen and heretofore unslaughtered. Id describes its new approach as "destructible demons", showing the damage your attacks inflict in excruciating detail even before you get in the monster's face to finish the job.

Doom is one of the most energetic and gory franchises on the market and developer Bethesda Softworks looks to be upping the ante with DOOM Eternal, which was announced during their E3 2018 press conference. There's also a new dash feature that allows the player to quickly burst forward before slaughtering large groups of demons.

Yu can watch some of the Doom Eternal gameplay above, and the game itself will be releasing apparently on December 28 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
