Tottenham make history by signing ... nobody?

Pochettino had been linked with several players and a fresh approach for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish was rebuffed by the Championship club earlier this week.

Tottenham have become the first team in Premier League history not to make a summer signing since the transfer window's inception in 2003.

"I think I want to make clear that all are fit, but maybe we need to care for some players and not push them to compete, not take some rash decisions with some players due to their background or for different reasons that we are assessing now after Monday".

Alderweireld's teammates Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele were also expected to leave the club this summer but failed to get their moves over the line before the transfer deadline. I think the club is doing an fantastic effort to try to finish the stadium as soon as possible, and the lodge is finished at the training ground.

"I think it's so hard now because it's only four hours until the end and I don't have news now", Pochettino told a news conference. "Drama is many things in life but football is joy". It's a massive challenge for us to try to deliver the best tools for them to get fit and then to prepare them for the whole season, not only for one, two or three games or for one month. 'I am the boss and if I expect you to do something, then you need to provide it. You need to show your commitment, from the pitch, from the bench or sometimes from outside.

"We are always open to finding the solution when it is possible".

"We are happy with our squad and we can not improve our squad".

The bookmakers are already unsure of Tottenham as a top four team this season which has to be due to their lack of transfer activity and even Arsenal fans will be hopeful of regaining their top spot as the best team in North London.

"We didn't sell players and with 25 players in the squad it is hard to add players". Fans have paid the prices asked, and yet no signings have been made'.
