Jose Mourinho working on £89m Milinkovic-Savic deal

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has asked the club to sign Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as the possible replacement for Paul Pogba.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has assured he is entirely focused on Lazio despite persistent rumours about his future.

The Serbian midfielder enjoyed a fine World Cup in Russian Federation for his nation and has caught the eye of several clubs, including Serie A rivals Inter and Milan, along with the Premier League duo of Manchester United and Chelsea. I'm happy to be back available.

Last season saw the midfielder net 14 goals and set up 9 more from 48 appearances across all competitions.

23-year-old Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with leading clubs around Europe all summer but is now back in pre-season training with the Biancocelesti.

According to CalcioMercato, Milinkovic-Savic's agents would like to see the midfielder playing for a more competitive side than Lazio after the club missed out on Champions League qualification in 2017/18, but are waiting for an acceptable offer to arrive from a top club. In order to do so, the Red Devils will have to smash their transfer record, with Lazio demanding €155 million for their prized asset.

Mino Raiola reportedly delivered a player-plus-cash proposal from Barca to United bosses on Monday, having jetted in to Manchester to try and secure a departure.

The Bianconeri have been further bolstered by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid - and the Serbian believes that the arrival of the Portuguese legend will benefit the whole division.

Interestingly, the reigning European champions also remain keen in acquiring the services of the seven-time capped Serbian global.
