Two Palestinians were reportedly injured in the attack in the northern city of Beit Lahia, according to an Anadolu Agency reporter in the area.

An unnamed Israeli official said Sunday that there might be talks focusing on a proposal to ease the blockade of Gaza if the Palestinians calm their side of the fence that separates the occupied territories from the blockaded coastal sliver.

Dozens of Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army fire.

Incendiary balloons and flaming kites launched by Gazans have wreaked havoc in the Israeli communities surrounding Gaza since April, sparking fires that have scorched thousands of acres of farmlands and countryside.

Two months after the start of construction on a new maritime barrier to prevent infiltration by Gaza terrorists on to the Zikim beach, the first photographs of the site have been released by the Israel Border and Seam Planning Administration and the Defense Ministry's Department of Engineering and Construction.

The "Hamas" leadership is working on a "progressive" agreement with Israel on ending marches organized at the border with the Gaza Strip and on the cessation of hostilities between Israel and the movement, including incendiary balloons in exchange for lifting the latest economic blockade imposed on the enclave.

The newspapers said that Israeli navy Saturday seized a Gaza-bound aid ship while in worldwide sea water and steered it to the Israeli seaport of Asdod.

The Palestinians and the United Nations similarly dispute Israel's assertion that it ended its occupation of Gaza in 2005.

Senior PLO official Ahmed Majdalani said any agreement with Israel should not be limited to "Hamas". The Trump administration's stated position is that Gaza should be under the control of Hamas's Western-backed Palestinian rivals.

The most serious such incident was in 2010, when Israeli commandos raided a Turkish ship, the Mavi Marmara, that was leading a flotilla to Gaza. Ten activists aboard were killed at the time.
