Woman buys coffee for stranger low on cash - and it’s Keith Urban

Country superstar Keith Urban was having trouble with his credit card at a South Jersey convenience store, which caught the attention of another customer who offered to pay it forward.

Ruth Reed says she met the Australian singer at a Medford Wawa in New Jersey ahead of his concert on Friday night in Camden.

Ruth Reed has made it a goal to once a week pick up the tab for customers at a Medford Wawa, so when Urban was short a few dollars the substitute teacher stepped in to help, according to citing a Facebook post.

"Then, he asked a young lady for $5 and I thought, 'This is it.' So I said, 'No I'll get it'".

"We decided when we saw military people we would treat them at Wawa or Dunkin Donuts or whatever", Reed told CBS Philly.

He thanked the her during their encounter at a store in in New Jersey and said his name was Keith.

She even went so far as to remark that he looked like Keith Urban.

"And I just fell apart, fell apart and he was gracious", Reed said. He asked a lady with him if she had money.

"When he told me who he was, I didn't believe him!"

But as she was paying she kept thinking, this guy looks familiar.

Reed said Urban stuck $5 in the donation box at the register and happily took a picture with her.

"I said, 'Really? Really?"

Reed said that's when she noticed his body guards and realized she really had paid for Keith Urban. "I asked where Nicole [Kidman] was and who was the lady [he was with]".
