Liverpool could sign Leon Bailey if they submit late £45million bid

Liverpool could sign Leon Bailey if they submit late £45million bid

The 20-year old has garnered interest from a number of high profile clubs that include Chelsea and Liverpool, but Arsenal were thought to be the front-runners in the saga.

Bailey has been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League for some time, with Liverpool also said to be keeping tabs on the player.

The Leverkusen speedster is a real talent, and has already chalked up 27 goals and 28 assists in 121 combined career appearances for both the Bundesliga outfit and Belgian side KRC Genk.

Considering the fact that Willian too was reported to be headed out of the club and the under-performing nature of Pedro, it makes sense that the Blues would be looking at someone like Bailey who would add more menace to their attacking line-up, with his pace and goal-scoring abilities.

Manchester City have expressed an interest in signing Bailey, while Bayern Munich submitted a £53m offer to Leverkusen in May.

And when asked about interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Roma, Bailey told Kicker: "There's concrete interest".

"If a club wants me, my management and Bayer 04 will take care of it".

"We want to play for the title".

The Jamaican winger now plies his trade in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen but has been linked with moves to several English clubs in recent months, as well as AS Roma and Bayern Munich.

"It is important that he handles the hype around him correctly and does not want too much too fast".

The summer transfer window is drawing to a close and managers are working hard to secure last minute deals so we'll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe.
