Omarosa claims in new book she saw evidence of Trump’s ‘mental decline’

Donald Trump's mental decline is undeniable, according to a former White House aide who has known him for years.

In an excerpt obtained by DailyMail.com, she cites her former boss' interview with NBC News' Lester Holt past year as a moment when she presumed "something wasn't right".

"For the Lester Holt interview, I watched it on a small TV in the upper press room (the lower press room was built on top of the old swimming pool and turned into the briefing room) by the press secretary's office", she writes. Many did not notice it as keenly as I did because I knew him way back when. "But I knew something wasn't right". "Oh no! This is bad!"

The Daily Mail published an excerpt from the book, in which Manigault describes her reaction when she saw the President interviewed by NBC's Lester Holt in May 2017.

In an interview on "Good Morning America" following her departure from the White House, Omarosa claimed she had "seen things that have made me uncomfortable, that have upset me, that have affected me deeply and emotionally".

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski is following Omarosa Manigault's lead by raising questions about whether President Trump is losing his mind.

For much of 2017, she served as director of communications for the office of public liaison for the White House, but was sacked by Chief of Staff John Kelly in December. When asked for reassurance about the state of the Trump White House, Omarosa replied: "It's gonna not be okay".

"Donald rambled. He spoke gibberish. He contradicted himself from one sentence to the next", she wrote. "But that relationship has come to a decisive and definitive end, and Omarosa is finally ready to share her side of the story in this explosive, jaw-dropping account". "I said, 'If it's possible would you let me know, am I under investigation?' He said, 'You are not under investigation'". It is unclear whether she had permission. She disputes the White House's account and claims she resigned from her post. She continued to go on a monologue about how Trump's madness is increasingly self-evident, and everyone who isn't afraid of him or politically invested in him is aware of this.
