Journalist Provides Positive Update Regarding Newcastle United's Summer Transfer Window

Former Sunderland and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce has delivered his verdict on Rafa Benitez's transfer stand-off with owner Mike Ashley.

"When things are not going well off the pitch you can see a reflection on the pitch", said the Spaniard, who admitted "everything" behind the scenes gave him cause for concern. The fans have to be concerned, we are concerned.

However, The Sun on Sunday (05/08; page 60) reports that Liverpool may agree to loan Ings to Newcastle with an agreement in place that the Magpies will pay £15 million next summer if he helps the club stay up and he himself manages to stay fit throughout the season. It's concerning with the season 10 days away. Their return to the Premier League came thanks to the astute managerial skills of Rafael Benitez, who managed to deliver a net surplus of over £40m in transfer fees while securing promotion.

"I'm honoured to be a player for such a big club", said Muto, the first Japanese player to join Newcastle. "The club will survive you".

The tweet immediately went down very badly with Newcastle fans, with many taking the time to vent their fury at the 61-year-old.

"You're a very courageous man if you go out and criticise the owners, which to be fair is what he's doing", The former England boss told talkSPORT.

"You have to be very self-confident in that you are criticising Mike Ashley with what you are saying". "I don't think we'll lose any players at the moment", Benitez said.

Benitez recently took aim at Newcastle's hierarchy with some controversial comments to the media, and has cut the figure of a man who is helpless in the transfer market when competing with teams who seem much more willing to spend money.
