Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab A 10.5 budget tablet

The Tab S4 has more of a productivity slant and pairs with a keyboard cover and S Pen stylus. The pricing of the phone is set at INR 16,990 and will be available exclusively via Flipkart and Samsung Online Shop, starting August 6, 2018.

Paired with a polished modern design, an immersive display, four speakers and enhanced entertainment features, the company said the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is the ideal device for those who need something portable like a tablet and capable like a PC. It's placed as an Apple iPad Pro killer in a market that's no longer as inclined to tablets as it was a few years back. Well, it has the firepower to do so too.

You can also control the far-field microphones in the device, with the help of simple commands through Google Assistant, and can even control your home through the SmartThings app. Bixby can help you with regulating home appliances, which is expected to have a Bixby Voice upgrade in 2019.

The LCD display is Full HD at a 1 920 X 1 080 resolution, and powering things is a more modest octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset. This is the same mobile platform that was present inside the likes of Galaxy S8, LG G5, OnePlus 5T and more. It will be offered in 64GB and 256GB storage models, both of which get microSD card expansion.

Samsung has launched their latest smartphone in their On-series range, the Samsung Galaxy On8, today, in India.

Additionally, the Samsung On8 gets the unique "Chat Over Video" feature, which allows users to chat simultaneously while on a video call, eliminating the earlier trouble of video pausing interruptions. There is a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera at the rear. Besides, the tablet rocks an 8MP f/1.9 front camera for selfies. It has various sensors like Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope, RGB, Hall Sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is fuelled by a 7300mAh battery with fast charging support. It also comes with a quad-speaker system tuned by AKG along with Dolby Audio. Moreover, Samsung is providing DeX integration with the Galaxy Tab S4 to offer a desktop-like experience. For starters it comes with its own S-Pen, bundled in the box.

The official leak comes a week before Samsung's much hyped NY event, where the company is expected to unveil a new Galaxy Note smartphone and had been tipped to launch tablets, a smartwatch, and potentially its first smart speaker.

"With the Galaxy Tab S4, we're introducing a premium tablet, equipped with Samsung DeX that helps consumers perform their absolute best wherever they go". The Korean maker has promised to upgrade the tablets to Android 9.0 at a later date.
