Demi Lovato hospitalized after suffering heroin overdose

Pop singer Demi Lovato is in a Los Angeles hospital after a suspected heroin overdose, U.S. media report.

Demi Lovato is hospitalized after an apparent Heroin overdose and we have the breaking details. Her condition is unknown at this time. The fire department said that a 25-year-old woman was transported to a nearby hospital.

Sources say that Demi has been "struggling".

Earlier Tuesday, Lovato's Twitter account shared that her pre-recorded appearance on the Jamie Foxx-hosted "Beat Shazam" was set to air that night on Fox.

A representative for Lovato did not immediately return a request for comment.

"LAPD and LAFD responded to a medical emergency at the 8000 block of Laurel View 11:40 a.m." the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to People.

"Momma I'm so sorry / I'm not sober anymore / And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor", she sang.

Demi has been open publicly with her battles with addiction - and her stint in rehab in 2010 - and emotionally celebrated her six year milestone during a concert in March.

The singer had recently released "Sober", which lyrics reveal she had fallen off the wagon. Her 2017 documentary "Simply Complicated" followed the singer as she navigated sobriety, revealing the extent of Lovato's drug use at the height of her Disney Channel fame when she was a teenager. It breaks my heart that she is going through this.
