Lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels says she was arrested

The arrest of Daniels and two others was part of a "long-term investigation into allegations of human trafficking, prostitution, & other vice related violations", Columbus police said in a statement.

The Community Defense Act was passed in OH in 2007 after the conservative religious group Citizens for Community Values lobbied heavily for rules against strip club operations.

Patrons rushed the stage and started throwing dollar bills at her. Daniels, who was topless and wearing a G-string, reportedly forced patrons' faces into her breasts and smacked patrons with them, according to the police report.

She also allegedly grabbed an undercover officer's face and pressed it between her breasts, CNN reports.

Daniels was released on bail early Thursday morning, and is due back in court Friday morning for an arraignment.

It also outlaws touching a nude or semi-nude dancer or their clothing in or in the direct vicinity of the club - unless the person is a member of the dancer's immediate family.

USA adult film star Stormy Daniels has been arrested in a strip club in Columbus, Ohio.

"Daniels' attorney, Michael Avenatti, told The Associated Press that some patrons touched Daniels in a non-sexual" way during her performance.

Avenatti, an avid cable news guest, appeared on MSNBC following Daniels's arrest to argue that his client was the victim of a set-up. "I think that this is one of the poorest uses of law enforcement resources I believe I have ever heard of in my lifetime".

Daniels was arrested Wednesday in an OH strip club.

The court papers said "no evidence" was provided that Daniels "appears or has appeared regularly at Sirens".

Avenatti had said the arrest was politically motivated and "reeks of desperation".

Klein, the city attorney, is reviewing their cases to see if they were regular performers or not. According to TMZ, the customer Daniels allowed to "motorboat" her turned out to be Columbus police officer Mary Prather. They say they've made numerous arrests under the law regarding illegal sexually oriented activity in a sexually oriented business, but did not immediately provide a number.

Daniels's whereabouts were unclear. The Thursday appearance was canceled after the arrest.

Avenatti posted on Twitter on Thursday morning that Daniels will plead not guilty to three misdemeanor charges.

Daniels has gained nationwide notoriety after she claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and accused him of paying her $130,000 in hush money during the 2016 election.
