Bye Bye To The B- IHOP Is Back

IHOb should really stand for "International House of betrayal", because less than a month since the big reveal, the former burger house is reverting back to its pancake roots. "That's right, IHOP! We'd never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers)", the company said in its Facebook post.

IHOP is flipping back to pancakes, ending a stunt that temporarily changed the chain's name to IHOB to promote new burgers on the menu. And as it turns out they're not even changing their name after all.

The company Twitter page had the following today on it: "We're giving away 60¢ short stacks on July 17 from 7a-7p for IHOP's 60th birthday". And on Monday, IHOb reverted once more to its original name of IHOP.

Heartbroken Twitter users expressed their confusion, but as IHOP said in a tweet, "We just had some burgers to bromote".

There were strong feelings going around about the name change. Before the IHOb campaign, 19% of USA adults said they had talked about the chain in the past two weeks.
