"I'll show him!" - France's Giroud aims to prove Thierry Henry wrong

Perhaps the most interesting aspect centers around how three of the four semifinalists: France, Belgium and England, have a reputation for not meeting the promise of their traditionally extremely talented rosters.

Belgium's Thomas Meunier will miss the game after picking up a second yellow card but France will be buoyed by the return of defensive midfielder Blaise Matuidi, after sitting out a suspension of his own.

He singled out his Barcelona team mate Samuel Umtiti. For Chadli, in particular, FIFA World Cup 2018 has been a redeeming tournament for him, after copping a lot of flak upon his selection in Belgium's final squad.

One of the fans, Olukunmi Gideon, told NAN that Henry's situation was quite "dicey" as he has a hard decision to make on which team to support during the encounter because of his affiliation to both sides.

Against Brazil in the quarters, Martinez showed tactical adventure, as he pushed target man Lukaku to the wing to allow De Bruyne to operate as a "false nine". Martinez will either bring back Yannick Carrasco or shift Jan Vertongen across.

"This Belgium is the most complete team at the World Cup, in terms of every aspect".

That saw France travel across the border to Belgium at the invitation of industrialist and Belgian sponsor Evence Coppée, who wanted to celebrate the friendship between the two countries.

His role in harnessing the world-class players at his disposal could prove crucial to Belgium's success in Tuesday's semi-final.

Belgium are unbeaten in their last 24 matches in all competitions, winning 19 and drawing five.

Eden Hazard has revealed he supported France growing up ahead of playing them with Belgium.

There is a very good chance, 3/4 to be exact that by the time this tournament ends on Sunday, one of these nations gets to bury the underachiever label; at least for a very long time.

"It's been a few years now that he said certain things in the media, before going back on his words or at least changing them", Giroud said.

There were 32 teams, now there are just four. On Tuesday, the count will be whittled down to three when two heavyweights of the game clash in Saint Petersburg.

Just as Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith combined to devastating effect that day, Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne laid waste to Brazil.

He also urged both teams and nationals of both countries, to show understanding for Henry's precarious situation, adding that doing so will make Henry a little bit relaxed and comfortable during the match.

It has been 20 years since France last won the World Cup and 12 years since they were last in the final, where they lost to Italy on penalties in a match which was dominated by Zinedine Zidane's red card for headbutting Italian defender Marco Materazzi.
