Chinatown Market Trolls the NBA After LeBron Signs With Lakers

"He's going to make Lonzo better because he's the best player".

Like most Los Angeles Lakers fans, LaVar Ball is feeling pretty good about LeBron James joining the Purple and Gold via free agency.

Take Kawhi Leonard, for example. This was immediately followed by the announcement that Rajon Rondo agreed to a one-year, $9 million deal with the Lakers.

As it turned out, the latter had made his mind up anyway, while the former remains on the Spurs roster for the time being.

"I know some people are rolling their eyes but I like what the Lakers have done", a rival Western Conference executive said. You think he's amped up and wants to join LeBron now? That said, it is unlikely these will be the only two in the coming months. Which means they now have five players from last year's NBA All-Star Game on the same team that won last year's championship, and the one. The 2,600-pound banner was originally installed in 2014 when James returned to the Cavaliers from the Miami Heat.

Cleveland prioritized specialists, many of them shooters. However, not to be outdone, the Warriors quickly countered with a big splash, inking all-star centre DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year deal, and cementing their position as heavy -185 chalk to claim a third straight National Basketball Association title. The three-time National Basketball Association champion will nearly surely drag the Lakers to their first post-season since 2013, but his new team remains short of being a realistic challenger for the title.

Not only are they odd moves because, well, they aren't exactly great players, but they also don't fit too well with LeBron's style of play.

The best player of his generation might no longer be the best recruiter in the league.
