Shenmue I&II HD August 21, 2018 Release Confirmed With

When the Shenmue re-releases were announced for PC earlier this year, Sega tentatively promised "modernized features" without naming specifics. However, the more interesting aspect of this store page is that the product has a release date listed on August 21, 2018. They haven't done much in terms of remastering the game but you will have the option to use Japanese or English audio, the choice to use classic or modern control options, scalable screen resolution, and an updated interface. With the games scheduled to release next month, you can now pre-order the Shenmue I & II bundle from the Xbox Store.

We'll have to wait and see how Yu Suzuki's Shenmue III - backed to the tune of $6 million - will end his epic revenge saga.

What makes this intriguing is that at the time of this listing, Sega has yet to officially confirm a release date for the anticipated re-release of both Shenmue games. Both were very well received.

SEGA has not confirmed - nor denied - yet this release date! The former includes features absent from the latter, says Sega, such as a Snapshots system, filters, texture mini-maps which improve anti-aliasing, and better visuals.

If you are one of the many antsy fans waiting for Shenmue III, at least you can relive Ryo Hazuki's first two adventures one more time before the new chapter hits shelves next year.
