Trump gets prank called by comedian while on Air Force One

US President Donald Trump was fooled by a comedian into taking a prank call while on board Air Force One. At this time Trump had been flying back from a rally in North Dakota. After being rebuffed under his own name, Melendez tried again, this time using a fake British accent and claiming to be an assistant to Senator Menendez. Bob Menendez has "chilling" implications, Rep. Gerry Connolly said.

A comedian released audio on Friday of his unbelievable prank call that made it to President Donald Trump aboard Air Force One.

Melendez, also known as Stuttering John, uploaded a recording of the four-minute conversation to his podcast, in which Trump can be heard revealing his plans to nominate a new Supreme Court judge in "10 to 14 days", following Anthony Kennedy's decision to step down next month.

The prankster then said he received a call from the US President. (AAP) President Donald Trump on Air Force One. "I gave them a news story on their laps".

He reached several White House operators before being told the president would call him back.

But President Donald Trump, who likes to field his own telephone calls and prefers spontaneity to protocol, is a different breed. "Thus far, this White House has only sabotaged every good-faith effort to find bipartisan common ground on immigration", Menendez said in a statement. I think we can do the whole thing. I mean, look, you've got 60 percent of the country, they've got to have security at the border. Kushner then told John that the line would call him back - even though the number was of a California registry and didn't match Menendez's contact information.

The conversation lasted for three minutes, with the two men discussing the Supreme Court, the debacle over immigrant family separations and Mr Menendez's corruption trial. Speaking to Politico, a source inside the White House blamed the debacle on Jared Kushner.

In the call, among other things, the voice that allegedly belongs to Trump (and does sound an terrible lot like him) says he hopes to have the new SCOTUS pick announced in the next 12-14 days. We have to have security at the border, we have to have it. "I'll probably make it over the next couple of weeks", the president, apparently, responds to Melendez.

"I agree. I agree", Trump says. "People are exhausted, you know, of the problem". Menendez told CBS News, "I welcome any opportunity to have a real conversation with the president on how to uphold the American values that guided our family-based immigration policy for the past century".
