First Lady Melania Trump Visits Child Detention Center in McAllen, Texas

- Melania Trump is under fire for wearing a jacket that said "I really don't care, do u (sic)?" while boarding a plane to go visit migrant children being held at a Texas facility after they were separated from their families at the U.S. -Mexico border.

"I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?" written on the back of Melania's jacket, refers to the Fake News Media".

Melania Trump, first lady of surprises, had another one Thursday when she donned a short trench coat with a startling message scrawled on the back for her unexpected visit to Texas to visit a migrant children's shelter.

"It's a jacket. There was no hidden message", Grisham said in a statement to the press. I'm gonna repeat that in all caps, because, yes, I'm yelling: SHE WAS ON HER WAY TO VISIT IMMIGRANT CHILDREN AT THE TEXAS BORDER!

I kind of liked it when first lady Melania Trump's to-die-for Dolce & Gabbana, Dior and Valentino ensembles simply telegraphed to the world that she was filthy rich and amazingly out of touch.

Accompanied by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Mrs. Trump met with the executive director of the facility and other staff in a makeshift conference room where she was told the staff treated the 58 children housed there as if they were their own. When the president signed an executive order reversing family separation, the first lady got a lot of credit for persuading him to do so.

Melania Trump was welcomed by staff at the Upbring New Hope Children's Center as she made an unannounced visit Thursday to the facility that houses 58 unaccompanied migrant children.

"I'm glad I'm here and I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting children", the first lady told the facility's workers as she sat down for a brief Q&A, followed by a tour.

"Most of the children here have escaped some pretty horrific situations where they've been asked to join gangs, have said no to joining gangs but are anxious about their own lives".

Last weekend, it was reported, the first lady urged the president to do something about the administration's policy to separate children from their families.

Mrs. Trump, whose focus as first lady is on child well-being, appears to have been among those pushing her husband to act.

She says this leaves groups like hers "uncertain" about how to manage those kids already in detention in the U.S. The White House hasn't confirmed. "She thinks that it's important that children stay with their families". The facility here opened in 2014 and there are now 58 children aged 12-17.
