'Skyrim: Very Special Edition' Is Real, Here's the Hilarious New Trailer

Actually no, at least not the Alexa version, you can actually play Skyrim. And yes, some people love it so much they'll pretend that's what it is. It was pretty amusing, partly because everyone loves to joke about Bethesda continuing to find new platforms to bring Skyrim to and new ways to re-release the seven-year old game.

Coming off the announcement of major reveals like a new DOOM, a new Wolfenstein, and yes, even the long-awaited announcements of Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda also let itself have some fun with a very quirky and hilarious reveal for Skyrim: Very Special Edition. If you don't have an Echo speaker, you can install the Alexa app on your phone and play Skyrim right on your device.

As part of the company's E3 showcase, they threw in a insane video starring Keegan-Michael Key to show us their latest, most ultimate versions of Skyrim yet.

Have you given Skyrim Very Special Editon a spin?

While the Alexa version of Skyrim was real, I'm still pretty sure the pager and smart refrigerator versions at the end of the video are fake.

The listing encourages you to "explore Skyrim using the power of your own voice", and presumably works just as it did in the trailer - as a choose-your-own adventure you can enjoy by talking to yourself in your living room.

While playing Skyrim on any Echo or other Alexa-embedded devices you'll get to fight dragons, shout... err... shouts, "guard your knees against arrows", and "other epic things".
