Mom wanted me to do a film like 'Sairat': Janhvi

Sridevi died at the age of 54 in Dubai. "Me and mom had this big discussion on how she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan Johar) called and it happened", Janhvi said, PTI reported. "I miss her today", Janhvi said at the launch, adding that the megastar wanted her to work in a film like Sairat, reports news agency PTI. Janhvi said she has treated her character differently from the one in Sairat. "I just hope we do justice to Sairat and people come out of the theatre happy", says Khaitan in an interview with Mumbai Mirror. But my character is different from hers. "We read a lot".

The makers openly claim that the movie is an adaptation of the Marathi blockbuster "Sairat", which has been a dream for Janhvi. I was consumed by it.

"I have simply tried to play it honestly", Janhvi said.

When asked about their first day, Janhvi recollected, "We weren't nervous on first day because we were prepared".

She also shared an emotional moment with sister Khushi Kapoor who broke down and hugged her on the stage. One post that really caught our attention was that of Arjun Kapoor who posted a heart-warming message for the young debutant.

"I just wanted you to know this profession is incredible if you work hard, be honest, learn to take the accolades with the brickbats, respect opinions and yet follow your own path and instinct". Arjun wrote, "All the best for #Dhadak!". Replying to Arjun, Janhvi commented, "I will make you proud". Dhadak is set to release on the 20 July this year.
