Microsoft Teases More Announcements and Reveals Coming Today During Inside Xbox

This morning during the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing we announced the formation of The Initiative, a new first-party game studio based in Santa Monica, California. Britain is the setting for the latest outing, which isn't perhaps as exotic as previous games but fitting that Playground Games welcome to the Microsoft family will be a chance to show off its home country. A new entry in the core franchise, a potential cute mobile entry, and most intriguing to myself, Gears Tactics, a turn-based strategy game.

Meanwhile, Microsoft gave a first look at several games coming soon to multiple platforms, including Cyberpunk 2077 (from Witcher III developer CD Projekt Red), Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Dying Light 2.

It's also about time that 343 Industries unveiled the next Halo game.

There's been no fighting game specific cues as of yet and it's wholly possible that we won't see any directly FGC-related content in today's conference, but the well is deep and the possibilities are endless.

We don't have any idea when Halo Infinite is coming, just that it's in the works.

- Electronic Arts held its press conference on Saturday, where it unveiled (among other titles) "Battlefield V", two new Star Wars games, and the Destiny-like sci-fi shooter from BioWare called "Anthem", which arrives February 2019. With Microsoft's backing, the new studios, will have the resources to "take bigger risks" and "create bigger worlds", he said.

In a blog post, 343 Industries revealed that the game is still in very early stages of development. The knock-on effect from that though is that not only is there a lack of interest in Xbox in Japan, but western players who enjoy Japanese games have no reason to pick up an Xbox One.

The upcoming Forza game will also include a cool open world multiplayer experience that lets you pit your racing talents against real gamers.
