Liverpool are not expected to make a bid for Alisson

Following Loris Karius' poor display in the 2018 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, many Liverpool fans have demanded he be replaced.

Liverpool FC appear to have suffered a fresh blow in their pursuit of goalkeeper Alisson Becker after it was claimed that he is happy at AS Roma.

Alisson has been repeatedly linked with a big-money move to Anfield this summer, and the Giallorossi shot-stopper hopes to sort out his next move before Brazil's World Cup campaign gets underway against Switzerland on June 17.

"There are some possibilities and we are working on all of them, with respect to Roma".

Alisson reportedly said: "I think everything will be resolved before the start of the World Cup, that's what I want". The truth is that I left everything in the hands of my agent.

On Monday afternoon, Sky Sports broke the news that Liverpool are unwilling to meet Roma's £80 million valuation of Alisson - such a price tag would comfortably make him the most expensive gloveman in history. We will see what will happen this week'.

1994 World Cup victor, now Alisson's worldwide goalkeeping coach, Claudio Taffarel told Tele Radio Stereo: "Alisson is very happy at Roma and the rumours of a transfer are just rumours".

That would be a world record fee for a goalkeeper, and would eclipse Liverpool's record fee paid which was £75 million for Virgil van Dijk in January.

"I believe that it will all be resolved before the start of the World Cup, or at least that is what I hope". It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club.
