New Details Are Emerging About LeBron James’ Hand Injury

On a podcast during the finals, Gilbert said he views James as much more than a player. The Ohio native brought a championship to the Cavaliers in his second stint with the team, but it appears he may end his career in a different jersey. One, there's the concern of how the Golden State Warriors would have defended him.

"Anything is possible", Love said, via Matthew Florjancic of WYKC. "Better say yes before I change my mind". His teammates and coaches all knew what had happened, and it's a wonder how it didn't come out sooner. "Always wanted to win here".

With James able to opt out of the final year of his contract and no hint of whether he may stay with his hometown team or again leave the Cavaliers to pursue National Basketball Association championships with another organization in better position to compete against the Warriors, there are plenty of questions to be answered in the coming weeks.

He displayed a soft cast on his hand during his post-game news conference and then rounded up his children and some of their friends, and along with his wife, and the usual support group of handlers and security personnel, drove home to Akron. Over the course of his postgame press conference, James reiterated that he's still in "championship mode", a potential problem for a Cleveland team coming off a sweep to the NBA's most talented team. I think, yeah, that's human nature to think about that kind of thing.

The possibility remains that Cleveland could retool and make another run, but doing so would require some serious creativity. The quintet of J.R. Smith, Tristan Thompson, George Hill, Kyle Korver, and Jordan Clarkson has a combined $111.3 million in guaranteed money left on their contracts.

Boston Celtics - Kyrie Irving and James did not exactly leave on the best terms, and James has continued taking small jabs at Irving even after his move to Boston.

Whatever is next, James said his family will play a major role. But why did the four-time MVP want to keep it a secret as he finished out the series playing with a broken hand?

"When you have as goal and you're able to accomplish that goal, it made me even more hgungry to win championships", James said. You just don't get opportunities like this against Golden State to take Game 1 and I let the emotions get the best of me. "So sitting down and considering everything, my family is a huge part of whatever I'll decide to do in my career, and it will continue to be that".
