Tyson Fury wins comeback after opponent is retired

Seferi, who was almost five stones lighter and seven inches smaller, did show some ambition early on but Fury's height and movement ensured there was never going to be an upset at Manchester Arena. But he took me a few rounds, which I was more than happy with.

"I'll be better next time". is reporting from Manchester in association with Betfair, go here for more odds.

"He took a couple of hard punches and didn't want to know". Look at Joshua and Wilder, they're all over 6ft 5in so I've got to prepare for people like that.

After his first fight since upsetting Wladimir Klitschko on points for three world heavyweight titles in November 2015, Fury said in the ring: "I felt fantastic, it was like having my debut again. I'll take my career very seriously this time and enjoy every moment".

The self-styled Gypsy King had Manchester Arena buzzing with excitement as he sauntered to the ring shortly before 10.30pm last night, bringing his boxing exile to an end as he soaked up the party atmosphere inside the 20,000 capacity venue.

But Fury rediscovered his passion for boxing and claimed to have lost eight stones (112 pounds) ahead of facing Seferi.

After ending Klitshcko's near-decade-long reign of the heavyweight division, Fury received his boxing licence in January after accepting a backdated two-year doping ban. Fury is likely to face a tougher opponent in his next fight set for September in a division now ruled by world title holders Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

With blood streaming down his face, the former lightweight title holder Flanagan (33-1, 13 KOs), who suffered a deep cut on the forehead after an accidental head butt in the seventh round, couldn't overcome the aggressive Hooker (24-0-3, 16 KOs), who just like training partner Errol Spence Jr., had to travel overseas to win his first world title. It's about him getting the rust out of the system.

"We picked him because he had gone the distance with Manuel Charr, who is the WBA regular champion, that is the reason we picked him. In the meantime, we have to get Tyson more competitive fights".
