'Sons of Anarchy' Actor Alan O'Neill Dead at 47

Actor Alan O'Neill died Wednesday in Los Angeles at age 47.

"My good friend Alan O'Neill died today. we worked together on The Sons Of condelences to his family".

The website has claimed the actor has suffered from heart problems and was a heavy smoker.

The spokesperson said that no illicit or illegal drugs were found at the home and no foul play is suspected.

O'Neill played Hugh in the smash-hit series, Sons of Anarchy.

His other credits include Irish TV series Fair City, where he played Keith McGrath for 70 episodes, comedy show Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories and British series Inspector George Gently. A great man, sadly missed. "My thoughts are with his partner, children, family and friends at this time".

Added Kristen Renton, who portrayed Ima Tite on the series, "RIP sir..."

O'Neill's acting career dates back to the 1990s. Alan was only ever a phone call away.

The death was confirmed Thursday by his manager, Greg Mayer, said the entertainment industry publication Variety.

In Kurt Sutter's beloved drama about the outlaw motorcycle gang, O'Neill's character was a former member of the True IRA and he made his debut during the sixth season.

Ros na Run storyliner Cian R. Taaffe wrote: 'Had the pleasure of meeting Alan O'Neill several years ago when he was still appearing in Fair City.
