Apple Rebrands iTunes Connect as 'App Store Connect', Launches New Companion App

Among all the underwhelming announcements of new features for its operating systems at the WWDC keynote, Apple did have something interesting to share with developers wondering about building apps for macOS and iOS.

You can set per-app or overall-usage time limits, manage app access for other users (such as children), set up warning pop-ups when you're close to hitting a preset usage time limit, and more.

And augmented reality (AR) has been given a shot in the arm, with shared AR experiences and in-app AR now possible. Many Apple iPhone X users have been complaining that Face ID's single face support is limiting. New and updated apps are highlighted in the Discover tab, while tabs for Create, Work, Play, and Develop aid in locating certain apps for a specific objective. You can add people at any time and join conversations using video or audio from an iPhone, iPad or Mac, and via audio from Apple Watch. He added that "The privacy thing has gotten totally out of control".

There are a lot of iOS 12 features that Apple didn't talk about on stage yesterday but are noteworthy.

There is also a new "Do Not Disturb during Bedtime" mode to help people get a better night's sleep by dimming the display and hiding all notifications on the lock screen until prompted in the morning.

Apple didn't confirm that these new rules were put in place to allow Steam Link on the iOS App Store, but the timing of their roll out certainly seems to suggest that they were.

The short answer to that question is "no", Federighi said, but the company is building out cross-platform compatibility.

With this improvement coming to millions of devices it certainly looks set to make older iPhones more user-friendly but Apple is also trying to make sure its customers are aware of just how long they are spending on their devices.

App Store Connect allows app developers to upload, submit, and manage apps; view sales reports; measure user engagement; create promo codes; and respond to reviews.

"We've all seen these - these like buttons, and share buttons and these comment fields".

While the systems have their own unique features, including a host of new tools for security, productivity, and automation, the elephant in the room was the potential interplay between the two.
