Swara Bhasker: My goodwill towards the people of Pakistan remains unchanged

Veere Di Wedding actor Swara Bhaskar seems to have garnered a lot of attention in Pakistan amid her latest comments about the country.

The actor's response came after severe backlash following distasteful comments about Pakistan.

Reacting to it, Pakistani VJ and actress Urwa Hocane slammed Veere Di Wedding actress Swara Bhaskar and shared videos.

In a conversation with Rajeev Masand, the Veere Di Wedding stars were asked about the movie getting banned in Pakistan due to vulgar language and obscene scenes. About time, people learn to weigh their words instead of acting churlish and hogging the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

Bhasker in an earlier interview in Pakistan had said that nothing compares to Lahore, not even places like New York, London or Paris.

To a tweet which read, "Indians and Pakistanis". She again called Pakistan a "failed state", one that has "no law and order". She added, "They're a nonsecular state".

Last, the actor tweeted her stance upon her regard for the people of the neighbouring country. I m not surprised at all. "I don't understand why we keep taking pleasure from all the silly things that happen in Pakistan", she said. Apologies to all my Pakistani friends right now.

Could this be Swara's attempt of clarifying her offensive comments? "United by hating on Swara".

If Hollywood releases are to be excluded, Veere Di Wedding has become the fifth highest-earning film of 2018 in terms of opening weekend collection.
