Suspiria's first trailer is gorgeous and spellbinding

Guadagnino's Suspiria is produced by Amazon Studios, and while there's no United Kingdom release date yet it's hitting cinemas in America on 2 November.

The teaser trailer for Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria remake is now here.

Suspiria, the Italian horror remake that at first nobody wanted, is starting to look like a can't-miss experience in its spellbinding, gorgeous first trailer.

Starring Dakota Johnson as a dancer who joins a "world-renowned dance company" overseas and Tilda Swinton as the mysterious artistic director in charge, the first footage only hints at the unsavory business happening below the surface. The incredible cast includes Dakota Johnson in the lead role, along with Tilda Swinton, Lutz Ebersdorf, Chloe Moretz, Mia Goth, Renée Soutendijk, Jessica Harper, Sylvie Testud, Angela Winkler, Malgorzata Bela, and Ingrid Caven. Some will succumb to the nightmare. The original Suspiria was released in 1977 and went on to become a classic of gore cinema.

In sharp contrast to Dario Argento's original, with its striking use of color, the new film appears to use a muted palette to differentiate itself. Thom Yorke's chilling score plays as we get our first glimpse into the stunning world.

In an interview with The Guardian previous year, Guadagnino described his remake as "a homage to the incredible, powerful emotion I felt when I saw it [Argento's film]".
