Amidst conspiracy theories, Melania to skip Trump’s Camp David family trip

President Donald Trump is scheduled to head to the Maryland retreat on Friday afternoon, but his wife will not be seen boarding the presidential helicopter with him.

Melania Trump won't be accompanying President Trump on his two upcoming foreign trips, the first lady's spokeswoman told ABC News Sunday.

Her last public appearance was on 10 May, when she joined her husband to greet three American hostages released from captivity in North Korea. The White House gave no explanation as to why her hospital stay was five days.

There has been much speculation about the reasons for Mrs Trump's absence from the public eye, with some claiming she had moved back to NY.

Whatever the reason for her lengthy seclusion, those starting to suspect that the First Lady has disappeared altogether will at least have their concerns put to rest.

The first lady underwent an embolization procedure on Monday, May 14, likely to remove a cyst from her kidney.

In a tweet storm on Friday, Black wrote: "I've been obsessing a bit over Melania's disappearance - and that's what it is".

The past three weeks the world has been asunder with the question: where is Melania Trump and what is she doing?! "Most of us don't even know cursory information about her - I would bet most people don't even know her home country". She is expected to make an appearance at the Congressional Picnic in June.

A White House spokesperson said: "Sadly, we deal with conspiracy theories all the time, so this is nothing new, just more silly nonsense. She was hospitalised for nearly a week and is now home and recovering".

Black expressed sympathy for the first lady saying, "They treat her with the softest of kid gloves".

She hasn't tweeted since May 30.
